VERSION 1.30
COPYRIGHT © 1991,1992 CHRISTIAN WARREN
Here he comes, the first PAL (or NTSC) installer who can be use on
non-standard BootBlock. The major problem of others PAL installer is that
the special BootBlock take the place of the original BootBlock. When the
original BB is non-standard, you loose all the precious informations found
on the BB. My program only append 8 bytes at the beginning of the BB and
shift the rest of the BB by 8 bytes to the right. He also check if the 8
bytes that will be lost at the end of the BB, are all set to 0. If not, he
will show you the boot block and ask if you want to install it. You can, at
this point, check if the 8 bytes lost are important ('XCOPYXCOPYXCOPY...'
can be erase without problem...).
By default, the program will begin with the sentence 'INSTALL a PAL
switch on DF0:' but you can change that by editing the file 'SwitchInstall'
with a file editor ( -> DEKSID <- , newzap, filemaster). You have to search
for the Ascii string 'Def:'. You will found something like 'Def:XYZ'. You
can change the X, Y and Z.
-> X = 0 -> 'Remove'
= 1 -> 'Install'
-> Y = 0 -> 'PAL'
= 1 -> 'NTSC'
-> Z = disk drive number (0-3)
- INSTALL = Install a switcher (PAL or NTSC) on the BootBlock of the drive
selected.
- REMOVE = Remove a switcher from a BootBlock. The BootBlock will return
to his original content.
- ViewBoot = See the BootBlock, in Ascii.
